TPS23881: 80W POE work with 10Gbps Ethernet

Part Number: TPS23881

Hey there,

We are designing in TPS23881+TPS2372-4 for an 80W application. Our POE solution is fine, but I would like to check the Ethernet use case, if you see any similar project before. The Ethernet is 10000Mbps (10Gbps) PHY. Did you see any success story from customers that apply POE together with 10Gbps PHY? I’m not sure if the POE power supply would be harmful to this high speed 10Gbps Ethernet communication.

              Thanks.

  • Hi Jerry,

The power and data design are quite separate. As long as the data transformer can do 10G and can handle the current to support 80W application, it should be good.

We have seen many customers doing 10G and 90W. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Penny
