Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC29002,
Hi
I have a customer interested in paralleling up to 8 power stages controlled by 4 LM5119 controllers with equal current sharing between the power stages. The option of using the UCC29002 load share controller is being considered but it may not have fast enough transient response.
I have the following questions
Can I use an external error amplifier (with compensation network) and configure the error amplifiers in the LM5119 devices as unity gain voltage followers. The output of the external error amplifier (current demand signal) would be connected to the EA+ inputs of the LM5119 error amplifiers. Each LM5119 would then be using the same error signal so the output currents should be reasonably equal.
A related question: is the error amplifier in the UCC5119 unity gain stable ?
Can I use one of the amplifiers in one of the LM5119 devices as the error amplifier (with compensation network) and configure all the other LM5119 error amplifiers as unity gain voltage followers. The output of the error amplifier would then be fed to the EA+ inputs of the voltage followers.
Thanks
Colin
