TPS61046: Stability with extra output capacitance

Part Number: TPS61046

Hello E2E,

I have an urgent customer question that I am hoping you can help me with.  They are wondering if the TPS61046 will be stable with 4x22uF capacitors with the following specs.

Vin min = 2.5V

Vin max = 5V

Vout = 12V (can be fixed)

Nominal output current = 100mA

1-3us output spikes of 2.5A

The reason for the additional output capacitance is due to the large transients that will occur somewhat regularly.  They want to charge up the output caps between transient events.

Note, we are evaluating other solutions, but want to use this device if at all possible due to space constraints.  So, can 4 x 22uF be used on the output and will the device remain stable?

Thanks!

Russell
