EM1402EVM: EM1402EVM new price

Hi,

Regarding EM1402EVM or TIDA-00817 I see a 6 time higher price for exactly the same board and harness.

What would be the explanation?

    Hi Radu,

    Thanks for sharing. I too noticed price change of this product. Unfortunately, I don't have the screenshot of the previous price. 

    I tried reaching out to support center but they couldn't discuss the details. 

    Could you please reply to this if you here something about it.

    Hi Radu/Rubeena,

    As I mentioned in the other thread, this is a recent change to reflect the moving away of our support for recommending the EM1402EVM and active balancing solutions in general. We recommend looking into passive balancing solutions like the bq76pl455a or bq79606a devices moving forward.

    Hi Rubeena/ Taylor,

    What I understand and it is reflected in this completely unjustified price increase is that TI is no longer interested in continuing the software development for this board and it seems that for the active balancing as well, abandoning the cause of other companies like Analog Devices (Linear Technologies) or Maxim.

    So EM1402EVM RIP!

    Case closed.
