Hi, OVP should be non-latch protection for these parts, after OV released, converter will go back to normal.

Hi Yuchang,

I have additional questions about OVP in both 3 devices.

(1) According to the datasheet, the output is discharged through the SW pin when OVP. Does it means that HS and LS switches are turned off together at the same time? Otherwise the LS switch is turned on in order to short the output to GND?

(2) Is there any delay setting (e.g. 2 switching cycle) for the discharge function from OVP detection?

(3) Is there any delay setting (e.g. 2 switching cycle) between the normal operation and the over voltage detection?

(4) If it's immediately switched from OVP to the normal operation without any delay, the output voltage doesn't drop under the nominal voltage when the OVP is occurred by the overshoot from big load-transient?

Hi Kazuto, when OVP happen, both HS and LS should be off, I checked some file found no delay for the OVP happen, and generally OVP will be released after IC detect Vout is normal, From the datasheet, discharge will not be enable for 56527/8, but seems it is available for 56c215, I will double check for this.
