BQ25700A: Several questions about bq25700A

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi Team,

I have several questions about bq25700A, please kindly help to answer.

  1. What is Fault_OTG_OCP in 0x20H? There is no info in below descriptions diagrams
  2. The faults are latched until a read from host.
How to understand this words? This bit will be latched to 1 if protection happens, reset to 0 after host read? If yes, why does it reset to 0 after host read? I mean we need to keep it to 1 if the fault is still there.
  3. SYSOVP_STAT
Is this bit read only? in descriptions, it can be written.

  • Hey Hollis,

    1. In OTG mode, if the OTGCurrent() register setting threshold is surpassed and causes the OTG voltage to drop below the OTG undervoltage threshold, this fault will trip.

    2. Your understanding is correct. If the fault occurs, but then is removed, it is latched until the host reads it. However, if the fault is still present, reading from the host will not clear the fault flag.

    3. To clear the SYSOVP converter latchoff, you must write this bit to 0. This fault both latches the register and the converter.

    Regards,

    Joel H
