Hi Team,

Customer is designing Bq25606 & 24040 charger.

Would you please provide comment for the following questions?

Can Bq25606 & 24040 charger auto adjust charging voltage and current based on detection temperature by itself? No I2C control is required?

    SHH,

    BQ25606 is a standalone charger and it does not require I2C. The device adjusts the charging current and charge voltage per JEITA guidelines. Please refer to 8.3.6.4 JEITA Guideline Compliance During Charging Mode on the d/s for the details.

    Hello SHH

    The BQ24040 will support JEITA and adjust charging current and charge voltage based on battery temperature, seen section 8.4.8 of data sheet also Figure 11.

    Charge current is reduced at cold temp and charge voltage is reduced at hot temp based on temperature measured by NTC resistor at TS pin.

    BQ24040 does not support I2C.
