TPS61196-Q1: 1、Please help to evaluate whether the circuit is OK?2、Is the selection of L301,D301 and Q702 OK?

    1. 10M resistor is missing for IFB4.

    2. What are your input voltage range(minimum input voltage), maximum output voltage, and maximum load current? You need to check the peak current of inductor under the worst case to see whether the L, D and Q are OK or not.  Are the conditions provided in the PDF the worst case?

  • The average input voltage is 12V, the output voltage is 24V, and the output current is 480ma.

  • Hi,

    1.The current ripple is 0.9091A and approximately 89.9621% of the inductor average current in the nominal condition when the forward voltage of diode is ignored. Can you accept so big current ripple? What's your system requirement about the inductor ripple and output ripple? The ripple of inductor is related to the output current ripple and the efficiency.

    2. The peak current of inductor, FET and diode is about 1.4651A under 95% efficiency and the average current of diode is 0.5053A. The max voltage of Q1 is 48+VF(diode), 60V(48*1.25) voltage stress of Q1  seems a little bit small.

    3. The current ripple and peak current will become bigger(112.4527% and 1.5787A) if -20% tolerance of inductor is taken into account.
