TLV62568: Power save mode test of TLV62568

Part Number: TLV62568

Hi team,

We are testing the light load transition report for customer and they have some concern about our power save mode.

They are asking to test the point of PSM into normal mode as below figure.

It shows the transition point will be about 200mA. It is higher than other competitor. They concern that whether we can sustain high efficiency at light load as the result shown in datasheet.

  • Customer would like to know the transition point of power save mode into normal mode and whether it is reasonable at about 200mA
  • Customer would like to know more how does PSM mode can achieve high efficiency performance at 100mA level.

Iload: 180mA

Iload: 248.2mA

  • Dear Feng bin Su,

Thanks for reaching out. I am looking into your query and will reach back to you in a day.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

  • Hi Riaz,

    Thank for your help.

Sorry. It is an urgent requirement from customer. They need our comment ASAP. Otherwise, they will design in our solution.

  • Dear Feng bin Su,

I will need additional information from your side to give you a helpful response.

First of all, please provide details of Vin, Vout and Iout. Different values here result in a different point at which the device transitions from Power Save Mode to FPWM.

Secondly, can you kindly confirm if the customer is testing the EVM provided by Texas Instruments? Or are they using a custom design? Incase they are using a custom design, it is important to know the inductor/capacitor values. Best will be to share the design directly by email.

I look forward to your response.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Zain Riaz
