BQ25700A: BQ25799A peak power mode and voltage sense

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi Sir,

I have 2 questions about the application of BQ25700A, I appreciate your suggestions.

1. I see there is a Peak Power Mode in the datasheet. Is there any limit for the Peak Power Mode? such as time is limited or something. May I always turn on peak current mode to achieve a high power charger? any concern about this?

2. About the voltage sense. If there is an already known voltage offset of the sense resistor because of the bad kelvin sense, can I set the register or change somewhere to compensate the offset?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks.

  • Hey Penn,

For 1) You can read more about the Peak Power Mode in section 8.3.7 Two-Level Adapter Current Limit (Peak Power Mode) of the datasheet. There are adjustable times for peak power mode, but it can be enabled indefinitely if TOVLD is programmed higher than TMAX. You will find this in the description.

For 2) What voltage sense offset are you referring to? You should strive for a good Kelvin sense line for any sensing traces. We do not have a known voltage offset.

    Regards,
