TPS723: TPS723 feedback resistor range

Part Number: TPS723

Hi Team,

In TPS723 datasheet, we see the feedback resistor R1+R2 should be around 100kohm.

Can i know whether customer can use larger resistor value? What's your recommended range?

Customer wants to try 330kohm and 47kohm. Is that OK?

  • Hi Hollis,

They can use larger resistor values but in order to avoid impacting the output voltage accuracy, it is recommended that the current flowing through the resistor divider be 100 times the feedback current specified in the EC table (max of 1uA). So the best practice would be to allow closer to 100uA to flow through the resistor divider, instead of the ~25uA your current design should have.  Now if the LDO will not experience junction temperatures much higher than 25C you can base your resistor divider current off the typical value, just know that there will be some part to part variance and the accuracy could be impacted.
