UCC28070: Any methods to use Internal function from ucc28070 or Recommended design for Synchronized Clocks with 180° Phase Shift.

Part Number: UCC28070

Hi. we've successfully developed 5kW Interleaved PFC with UCC28070 and planning to parallelize it to make 10kW.

And If I understand the answer from this link correctly, there's no function to parallelize 2 ucc28070 without "Synchronized Clocks with 180° Phase Shift"

If there's no option to use internal clocks or function to parallelize 2 UCC28070 without external circuit, Do you have any suggestions for "Synchronized Clocks with 180° Phase Shift"?

Best regards.

  • Hello ,

If you wish to build a 10kW pfc with a combination of two 5kW pfc modules then you will need to synchronize the modules as
shown in the block schematic of the UCC28070 data sheet.
Synchronisation is required for accurate power sharing between modules.

The concept of synchronising two modules was never fully developed into a reference design and so I have no available schematic for the master clock
with its two out of phase sync clocks.

    Regards
