TLV62568: How to design Cff cap value for loop compensation

Part Number: TLV62568

Hi,

Customer would like to change Cff value from 6.8pF to 8.1pF, can you help us double check is it ok or not?

And if it is possible please provide design tool for loop compensation design.

Thanks

  • Hi Paul,

The answer would depend on customer requirements, and the customer will have to decide this based on their system.

As a general rule of thumb, increasing Cff value results in a faster loop response (higher bandwidth) but at the expense of lower phase margin. Using 8.1pF should not be an issue as far as the system at customers' end does not become unstable. Please ask the customer to verify the transient response and the phase margin, as far as the phase margin is above or around 45 degrees, the system should be stable.

    Best Regards,
