TLVH431: Clamp circuits for AM572X

Part Number: TLVH431

Hi team,

My customer is using AM572X EVM and found the TLVH431 in #5 page as attachment, could you please help to show how this circuit work and why we need this circuit?

Thanks.

 ARM MPU AM572X Industrial EVM.pdf

  • Hi James,

The TLVH431 is basically a smart Zener diode that is much more precise and lower Iq than a Zener diode.

In this situation, they are used to clamp or regulate the voltages between the two rails. The voltage difference is set per the gain resistors R895/R897 & R899/R901.

Since the TLVH431 can only sink 70mA, the PNP's are their to increase the current sink capability of the device.

The main reason the ARM MPU can be found here
