BQ27426EVM-738: bqStudio Chemistry Window

Hello,

I'm trying to get through the setup procedures documented in the user manual for the BQ27426EVM, and in bqStudio, there is no button for the Chemistry window. Am I missing a driver or a software update? For reference, I'm using

bqStudio Version 1.3.86

EV2400
Version 0.18

The board is detected as
bq27426G1
0426_2_02

Otherwise, the board seems to be communicating properly with bqStudio, but I want to make sure I am configuring the device properly according to the user manual, and setting the battery chemistry is something I cannot do without the Chemistry window.

Hi Matt,

BQ27426 is ROM gauge and provides three selectable preprogrammed profiles for 4.2-V, 4.35-V, and 4.4-V cells.

You cannot program a particular chemistry id to it.

I'm very confused. The screenshot from the bq27426EVM user manual is below. It clearly shows that you should be able to select from those 3 preprogrammed profiles from the Chemistry window. Has this functionality been removed?

No. I can see the Chemistry tab in my bqStudio (v1.3.86)

That's interesting. I've provided all the information I thought could be helpful. Any recommendations on how to see the chemistry window in my version of bqStudio? Is there a way to report this as a bug to the software team?

Andy,

This file corrected my issue. The installer for bqStudio should be updated with this file (which was in fact different from the .bqz file installed with bqStudio for the bq27426). Thanks for the help.

p.s. For anyone else reading this, to correct the issue, I had to remove the file named "0426_2_02-bq27426G1.bqz" from my C:/ti/BatteryManagementStudio folder. I then copied the file that Andy provided into that directory and renamed it "0426_2_02-bq27426G1.bqz".

Hi Andy,

i have the same problem as Matt. I using the same board and the latest version of the Battery Management Studio (1.3.86) and i can't choose the chemistry tab. (see below).

I also missing the Manual Control Panel.

Could you please help me?

It's possible to get an older version of BQ studio? (1.3.54.1.)

Did you try the file that Andy provided? That worked for me. I just posted about a couple minutes ago, but my response may not have been live by the time you added your comment.
