BQ28Z610-R1: unused pins

For BQ28z610-R1 and BQ78z100- can I not have the charge and discharge FETs or the cell balancing? Can I just leave those pins unconnected?

    Hello Lindsey,

    If you don't plan to use the protection FET features you can float CHG and DSG pins. I'm not sure which pin(s) you are referencing with regards to cell balancing. Cell balancing uses VC1 and VC2 pins, which are also needed for cell voltage measurements. The gauging wouldn't work if these pins were left unconnected.
