LMR16030: work as LED driver

Part Number: LMR16030

Hi Team,

I would like to know if buck converter could be work as LED drive.

Vin = 20-36V Vout = 18V Iout=1A

We have experiment and LED could be brighten. (Vin= 20V)

But when Vin = 24.1V-25.2V the LED become flicker. And when Vin is higher than 25.3V, the LED isn't flicker. (25.3-36 is normal)

Why LED flicker when Vin = 24.1V-25.2V but normal when Vin = 20V-24V and 25.3V~36V

Regards,

Roy

  • Roy,

    This can be from a number of issues. Maybe the device goes unstable. Maybe the supply clicks to a the higher voltage setting and the current trips the supply current limit. Or it could be something else. Please share your schematic, layout, and waveforms showing VIN, VOUT, SW, and SS.
