BQ24780S: 0x14H unexpectedly reset to 0mA

Hi,

There's an application scenario that customer read from battery pack that the precharge current ongoing is 92mA.  Customer tried to set 0x14H to 64mA and then found 0x14H is automatically set to 0mA for unknown reason.  (Other registers are not set to default value.)  May I know what could cause 0x14H is set back to 0mA automatically?
