BQ25150: VIN lower than VBAT

Part Number: BQ25150

Hello,

I would like to know what happens if the VIN voltage is lower than battery voltage. Let´s say, 3,8V VIN and battery at 4,2V.

  • Would the LDO work? Will it be supplied from VIN?
  • Would the I2C work?
  • Would the charging be enabled?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello,

In this case, the LDO will be powered by the battery because the input FET will be turned off.

I2C will work as ling as the device is not in low power mode that is /LP pin is not low. There is a pulldown resistor on /LP.

Charging will not be enabled as the device will not recognize VIN as present unless VIN is > VBAT + 130mV.
