LMR36015AEVM: Is it possible to observe basic operation of LMR36006AQRNXRQ1?

Hi team,

Is it possible to observe basic operation of LMR36006AQRNXRQ1 by using LMR36015AEVM?

I want to confirm PFM mode in light load and waveform of LMR36006AQRNXRQ1. However, for LMR36006-Q1, there is only LMR36006BEVM, which has 1MHz frequency and it is not suitable for automotive application.

If the difference between LMR36006AQRNXRQ1 and LMR36015ARNXR (LMR36015AEVM) is only maximum output current capability, I want to use LMR36015AEVM. Could you give me your comment for that?

Hi,

From EVM user's guide (link below), LMR36015AEVM and LMR36006BEVM share some layout. You can put a LMR36006AQRNXRQ1 on the board but you need to resign inductor and input/output capacitors if you use a different frequency version.

Hi Iven,

Could you tell me LMR36006A and LMR36015A threshold output current for moving light load mode or PFM mode?
Are these value same one? If so, I can use LMR36015AEVM for measuring characteristics without IC replacement.

Hi,

The two values are different, you can find Minimum inductor peak current in Electrical Characteristics table in their datasheets.
