ISO5452: ISO5452 fault setting

Part Number: ISO5452

Dear team,

See from datasheet of ISO5452, RDY could self-recovery, but FLT only recovery by reset RST. In customer's application, FLT usually means serious fault, they will not want to reset DESAT, they will cut off the end equipment and then power up the machine. Please help confirm:

1. Is the way customer deal with FLT fault if right or wrong?

2.Did the FLT fault disappear when power on again? Could customer connect RST directly to 5V?

3. Any other way recommend to deal with the fault?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Sammi

  • Sammi,

    Thanks for your question.

By this, you mean they will cut power to all driver (VCC1 & VCC2, both HV and LV side?)

    1. Is the way customer deal with FLT fault if right or wrong?

If they are doing this then this could work, instead of using RST pin when tying /RST to VCC1. I am not sure if its right or wrong. Depends how they do it.

    2. Did the FLT fault disappear when power on again? Could customer connect RST directly to 5V?

    /FLT condition should"dissapear" after a power-cycle IN LV side,

    3. Any other way recommend to deal with the fault?

They can implement the /RST control the typical way, and turnoff the isolated supply of HV side such as by an enable pin on the isolated converter. It depends how they are

Any further questions on this please let me know. We can also do by email.

    Best
