BQ51003: Applying 5V to OUT pin when AD pin is grounded

Part Number: BQ51003

We would like to apply an external 5V to the OUT pin of BQ51003. Clearly, this is possible if the AD pin is pulled high based on Fig 38 of the datasheet, but our circuit has the AD pin pulled to ground and we are not able to pull it high with the current boards. Applying an external 5V supply is for testing purposes only, so we can guaranteed that there will not be wireless power supplied to the chip while the external 5V supply is connected to the OUT pin.

In short: Is it acceptable to apply an external 5V supply to the BQ51003 OUT pin if the AD pin is at ground, assuming wireless power is never supplied under this condition?

Thanks,
Mark
