TPS22976: RC delay @ ON1 pin

Part Number: TPS22976

Hi,

Can we add an RC delay (36kohm/0.22uF) @ ON1 pin?  Any side effect?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hi Antony,

    Welcome to E2E!

An RC delay may be connected to the ON-pins of the TPS22976. The ON-pin of the TPS22976 has a hysteresis of 90mV. Once the device is turned ON, due to the hysteresis, the voltage on the ON-pin would have to drop 90mV for the device to turn off. As long as there's no voltage fluctuations on the voltage of the charging capacitor that exceed the hysteresis, the device will remain ON.

The ON-pin should still not be kept floating. If the enable signal that's going to be used can actively pull the node to ground or 0V, then no additional components will be required. If the signal is left floating in the disabled state, then you will have to add a resistor in parallel with the capacitor(i.e. connected from ON1-pin to GND) to ground the ON-pin in the disabled state.

    Best regards,

    Andy Robles
