LM51501-Q1: STATUS output when in standby mode

Part Number: LM51501-Q1

Hi, team,

One question from customer about LM51501-Q1 STATUS pin voltage when device in standby mode. In datasheet description, STATUS is released or grounded when in standby mode, could you share with me when is STATUS pin released and when is grounded in standby mode?

Thanks.

Johnny

  • Hi Johnny,

Section 7.3.10 explains status pin operation, and situation will depend on what configuration customer is using- because otherwise the answer will be very long.

Status pin goes high if Vout < Vout_wakeup; and status pin goes low if (Vin > Vin_standby in SS) or (Vout>Vout_status_off in EC)

    An example configuration:

In EC configuration with a regulation target of 8.5V, if Vout > Vout_standby (9.01V), the part is in standby operation.

However, if Vout_wakeup (8.76V) < Vout < Vout_status_off (9.52V), status pin will only go low if Vout > Vout_status_off. If Vout >9.01V, and 8.76V < Vout < 9.52V, then status pin will be high.

Therefore, in order for status pin to go low, Vout > 9.52V

    Thanks,

    Richard
