LM25085: LM25085 Current limiter

Part Number: LM25085

Hello,

I'm design a regulator for an application where the load can draw up to 7A for some seconds (it's a big capacitor).

I want to limit the current to 5A to avoid high temperature on the load.

My question is if I set the current threshold to 5A what happen when the load tries to draw 7A ? Is the PFET switched on and off to try to keep 5A on the load ?

Thank you

Riccardo
