BQ24725: BQ24725 can't charge

Part Number: BQ24725

1.bq24725a are working abnormally, the situation is as follow: after the load was turned on and off  for several times, there is no current and voltage output from bq24725a.

2. This is our circuit

I think the minimum voltage of ACDET comparator is 2.376v in the datasheet. If now the voltage of ACDET is 2.4V, it can work normally. Will there be any risk of being unable to work after. I want to increase the voltage of ACDET , can I change R10 from 10K to 200K in order to increase the voltage above 2.5V.

Is that ok? I'm looking forward to your reply!

  • Hi,

The ACDET pin voltage must be between 2.4 V and 3.15 V for the BQ24725A to recognize that a valid adapter is present and start charging. I'm not sure how much voltage drop there is across D5 in your circuit, but please choose appropriate resistor divider values such that 2.4 V < ACDET < 3.15 V when the adapter is plugged in.

Also, why did you decide to use the 3.3 V rail instead of the adapter voltage for the ACDET resistor divider? I think it's more straightforward to step down the adapter voltage directly, as shown in the typical application diagram:

    Best regards,
