TPS65910: VPLL open

Part Number: TPS65910

Dear team,

Our customer does not use VPLL.
Can they this pin open? or need COUT? or need COUT and R load?

Regards,
PAN-M

  • PAN-M,

VPLL is an LDO. You need COUT to keep LDO circuit stable but RLOAD would not be required.

If you really want to remove COUT, it is also possible to "trick" the PMIC to keep VPLL within regulation and connect VPLL directly to another output with same voltage. For example, when you use TPS65910A31 for powering AM335x, if VPLL is not used it could connect to VAUX1 which is enabled at same time at same voltage (1.8V)
