Hi team,Good day.The TLV1117LV has overcurrent protection features. What is the response time of overcurrent protection if an overload situation happens? Is the overcurrent protection for overload condition or surge current?Regards,Carlo
The current limit is a secondary control loop. The primary control loop of course is to regulate voltage. So this by design tends to be a bit slower than the voltage regulation loop. We don't normally characterize the time to engage as the current limit and thermal protection shutdown features are more focussed on protecting the device and not so much the load.
Why are you asking, are you looking for a faster or slower current limit, is there a peak current you need to ensure passes to the load without the limit engaging? If so, what is the peak and duration?
