UCC28019: transient load

Hello E2E,

Please let me know about transient response.
Customer is using the UCC28019 that on their evaluating board.
Input
: AC24V
Output
: 300W
They have issue.
When transient load current from no load to max load, the UCC28019 has stop operation.

Does TI recommend to change from UCC28019 to more high switching frequency PFC?

Please your advice.

Does the customer have the problem in the simulation file only or does it also not work in the lab with hardware?

Hello Peter,

Customer is working with actual circuit board. When load current goes up steeply, PFC controller was stop, fuse on AC input line was Disconnected. However, if load current goes up slowly, fuse has not disconnection.

Should we increase the switching frequency for PFC?

The problem may not be related to the switching frequency.

You need to capture the waveforms during the load transient to see where the problem is.

Has the customer checked the current in the boost inductor to see if it is saturating during the load transient?

Customer said that the inductor has not saturation. And I got schematic from customer. Can I request you check for schematic on private message?
