TPS7B4250-Q1: Can this device use as usual LDO?

Part Number: TPS7B4250-Q1

Hello Team,

I have a question. Can TPS7B4250-Q1 use as usual LDO? It means ADJ/EN-pin is able to use as feebback-pin of usual LDO. (Of course, The external voltage divider is required.) I looked at the datasheet it seems reference voltage is required except input voltage. That's why I am asking. If TPS7B4250-Q1 is able to use as usual LDO, would you please tell how to set output voltage? (Vin=8V+/-10%, Vout=6V)

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • HI Yasushi-san,

This regulator works in unity gain which means the reference is the output voltage. If you want to use this for 6VOUT, you would need to make a 6V reference to connect to the VREF pin. One idea to do this might be to use something like the TL431LI to make a simple 6V reference.

Why are you wanting to use this as a normal LDO?
