Part Number: LM25122-Q1
Hi,I have a customer looking at doing a design with the LM25122-Q1 with the following specs and I have a couple questions:
Thank you for asking. Your output is 300W, so I strongly recommend at least dual phase. There are similar reference designs like PMP7850.1 and PMP21112.
There is specific threshold because the IC is a controller and the power level is basically determined by the external components. However, based on our experience, when you trading off the thermal, cost, solution side, etc, one LM5122 or LM25122 can handle up to 200W. Higher than that may still work but the overall cost may not be optimal.
For your operation conditions, the LM5122 or LM25122 fits best.
You are correct about the differences between the two parts.
Lastly, you may also submit a reference design request to TI Reference Design Group to create a design for your customer.
