LP5912-Q1: PG pull-up resistor

Part Number: LP5912-Q1

Hi Experts,

Datasheet suggests that the pull-up resistor at PG pin should be 10-100kohm, can customer use 2.15kohm here? Because the PG pin is connected to the PORST pin of MCU, which has an internal 15kohm pull-down resistor. If customer use 10-100kohm pull-up resistor at PG pin, the voltage level at PORST would not be suitable. So they would like to use 2.15kohm for PG pull up, is there any risk? Thank you.

  • Hi Arie,

The power good signal can sink up to 1mA of current.
So using a lower value resistor such as 2.15k ohm will result in a 2.15V drop across the resistor.  The customer will need to make sure that the additional voltage drop across the PG pin is detected as a logic low by the connecting circuitry.  This is why the datasheet says "for best results" use a 10-100kohm pullup resistor.

    Thanks,
