BQ28Z610-R1: log minimal cell voltage

Part Number: BQ28Z610-R1

Hello,

i am using the bq28z610-r1 for a while now and everything is going as planned. While testing i got a feature idea for series but i am not sure if this is possible with this gauge.

Is it possible that the fuel gauge will log the minimal cell voltage? (like max voltage at "lifetimes" registers)

Idea is that the fuel gauge can inform the system that the battery is treated badly (long storage time with no charging -> deep discharge) and therefore the system can request a battery replacment at a service station.

Best regards

  • Hello Andre,

I don't believe this gauge has the ability to log the minimum cell voltage over the lifetime, the MCU would have to log that data if needed. I do believe some of the other gauges do log the minimum voltage over the lifetime though if you are able to use a different gauge.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
