TPS63802: Reverse current in PWM clarification

Part Number: TPS63802

Hello,

The data sheet states that "When the TPS63802 is forced to PWM operation(MODE= HIGH),the device current can flow in reverse direction. This happens by the negative current capability of the TPS63802".

Can you please elaborate on this reverse current? Under what conditions will the reverse current flow? I do plan to use the PWM mode as our application has low noise analog circuitry as well.

Also,I use a primary battery as the input voltage source and I'm concerned that this reverse current can damage the battery.

Thank you in advance,

Alex
