TLV62130: PG pin output is fluctuating a lot.

Part Number: TLV62130

Here in my company we are using MYIR z-turn board.  On that board they used TLV62130 to convert 5 v to 3.3 v.  There are two types of powering is available one is USB and another one is 5v adapter. While using the USB powering, it works just fine.  But when using the adapter, PG output pin voltage fluctuates a lot (0 to 1.46 v - 72Hz).So the processor can't be turned on. the USB powering gives 0 v to 3.3 v. I have confirmed these thing using a oscilloscope. Please reply for this question, thank you.

  • Sharan,

Does the USB power the processor directly? As in it bypasses the TLV62130 or does the USB power supply the 5V input for the TLV62130?

Can you check the 3.3V TLV62130 design's schematic and confirm there is a pull-up resistor from PG to 3.3V rail? Also, can you probe the Vout of TLV62130 directly and confirm you see 3.3V there? PG should be equal to VOUT when VOUT is in regulation like figure 32 or 33 on page 23 of datasheet.

  • Thank you Mr. Amod.

Finally we found the issue is with in the 0 Ohm resistor (Fuse). And now. everything working fine.
