UCC28063: Short failure was observed on the UCC28063 unit in end customer

Hi team,

My customer is using our UCC28063 in production and there is some short failure was observed on the pin11,12 of UCC28063 which the FA process has done by TI lab. The fail rate is about 2/2000 for now.

Customer would consult with us about the possible reason to induce this failure happened.

Is the transient spike coming from the power mosfet? Any suggestion to improve it? Thank for your kindly help.

Hello,

It sounds like the VDD and/or the GDB pins voltage/current ratings were exceeded.

The customer mentioned it was transient spike coming from the power MOSFET. Did either of these devices see a transient spike?

Could you share there schematic to I could review it?

Please refer the below figure for the schematic of PFC. Sorry. Customer only give me the snapshot of schematic. The resolution is a little bad.

Let me know if there is any spec of component you would like to know. I will check with customer. Thanks
