UCC21710-Q1: UCC21710-Q1

Part Number: UCC21710-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21710

Hi  engineers,

I tried simulating the component UCC21710-Q1 in LTspice but when I implemented the component it is simulating infinitely long time and not coming up with a simulated result.

I tried building it the entire setup survival time, still my model is not running.

I have attached my file below .Any information regarding this issue you can provide.

Many thanks

Shane

  • Shane,

In your schematic, there was not a symbol for the UCC21710 I cannot tell some pins apart, I think it may be in a different directory that was not included in your zip. If you can, could you please include this symbol such that we could open your schematic without issue and check the simulation?

If possible, are you able to check your schematic in TINA which is our supported simulator, and very similar to LTSPICE. You can import your mosfet models as well to it. This is our supported simulator and what we recommend.

  • Hello Dimitri,

I have included all the need files alson with the symbols such that you can access my simulation files

  • Shane,

Thank you for providing it. Please allow me till tommorow to check your files and run the sim.

  • Shane,

I just trying running your simulation without the mosfet model and it ran successfully. Can you try to remove that model and run it again? in my case it had completed successfully. you may try another mosfet model (even a default one included with ) or a cap load to test, i tried all 3 and it worked. Maybe the issue could be with the mosfet model rather than the UCC217xx model.

    let me know your results.

  • Hello Dimitri,

Thank you for the quick response.

I tried running it with different mosfet but it's still not simulating the iteration is infinity But when I simulated removing the rst, fault, rdy which is connected in series to resistor & capacitor of 5k and 100pF my model simulated with using the same mosfet .

These instructions were given in the data sheet of the gate driver Page:36.

Here in the Forum (Thread: UCC21710-Q1: time delay before OC pin is activated) some people build up exactly the same circuit and they were able to run it without any problems.

Do you have any idea why i have to remove these components to run my simulation?

    thank you in advance.

    Shane

  • Shane,

That is really bizarre, I am not exactly sure why this would be the case. but I am glad to hear that the simulation is working now.

Does it run with just the Caps removed and not the pullup resistors?
