ISO5452: ISO5452 short circuit protection

Part Number: ISO5452

Dear team,

When customer did short circuit protection test of ISO5452, the IC should be soft shut down under this mode, but customer tested no soft shut down as below picture shows.

Could you kindly help confirm?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Sammi

  • Hi Sammi,

    What is their PWM frequency and duty  for this test?

    What is the load?

    And I can't tell exactly  about the timing but it looks like around 800ns at the top of Fig 1 DESAT voltage. If this is confirmed, then this is exceeding the desat deglitch filter, if the voltage #2 is above the threshold?. Could you ask them about this timing? ANd also the plateau voltage (#2).

    Best

  • Hi Dimitri,

    Thanks for your response.

    Please refer to this picture customer tested:

    1: single pulse test 7us, high-side MOSFET always ON, low-side MOSFET was driver to simulate short circuit;

    2: Add a 9.1V Zener diode, so the voltage was limited at 9.1V;

    3: The cursor a is the short circuit thresholds 8.1V(Vdesat-2*diode);

    4: Customer think CH1 should decline in cursor b position several us, then drop to VEE.

    CH1: fault signal; CH2: PWM; CH3:DESAT; CH4: OUTPUT signal

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Sammi

  • Sammi,

    I will reach out by email
