BQ76952: how is the rated sink current of high side gate driver?

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD19536KCS, BQ76PL455A

Hello Sir:

We have three questions which need your assistance.

1. If customer used 4pcs CSD19536KCS with parallel mode in discharge MOSFET and Rg used 100ohm on each MOSFET.

Please let us know how much the turn off time will be?

2. Or please let us know the sink current capacity of high side gate driver.

3. Do you have recommendations on extra the output current of REG1 and REG2?

Customer wants to know that the way likes NPN LDO of BQ76PL455A.

Best wishes

Statham

  • Hi Statham,

    1. The data sheet author expects the user to calculate the effective pull down from the fall time specification, then apply this to the specific test condition.  The CSD19536KCS has about 9.3 nF Ciss, so 2 would be approximately the 20 nF test capacitance.  2 additional pcs would double the capacitance and the switching time.

    2. DSG turn off pulses rapidly below the LD level to allow the use to adjust the turn off time based on the FET capacitance and series resistance.  No equation is presently included in the data sheet.

    3. No method to increase the current is provided for the REG1 and REG2 regulators.  REGIN is intended only for supply of the internal regulators.  The REG1 and REG2 are internal regulators with a different architecture than the BQ76PL455A.

  • Hi Sir:

    Thanks a lot your information.

Base on the status is preview can you ask BU to update the information (sink current) on datasheet as below fig?

Or provide one application note for customer reference.

I think BMS customer will pay attention on this parameter.

  • Hi Statham,

    Thanks for the suggestion.
