BQ25125: EN_SYS_OUT Use?

Part Number: BQ25125

Power Mangement Rockstars,

I've got a BQ25125 on my application and I'm slowly bringing it up.  Overall first impressions of the device are that its freaking awesome, but I've run into a small issue.

Despite the datasheet clearly saying "The SW output is enabled using the EN_SYS_OUT bit in the register. This bit is for testing and debug only and not intended to be used in the final system.", I would like to use it to gate power to all the devices connected to this rail.  What I've noticed is that when I clear this bit and turn off the buck converter, the device no long ack's any I2c communication to it.  Is this expected behavior?  Could you elaborate on why this bit should not be used in the end application?

Thanks for your time,

Trey
