LMZM23600: Can the LMZM23600 be used to create ±36V to ±15V?

Part Number: LMZM23600

Can the LMZM23600 be used to create ±36V to ±15V?
Or is it possible to create ±15V from a single power supply (+36V)?

  • Hi Kenichiro,

The LMZM23600 can be used to create a positive to negative conversion. Positive input voltage rail converter into a negative output voltage rail in the form of IBB topology can be implemented following this app note. Please note that there are design considerations with output voltage range and current loading capability when converting from buck to IBB.

From the way I see it, you can have a 36Vinput that splits into two rails +15V and -15V. I can see the LMZM23600 used for 36Vin/15Vout conversion. However since the LMZM23600 is rated only up to 36V input, it can not be used in -15V application. I would suggest looking at the 60V rated power modules to see if anything fits your application for 36Vin/-15Vout application.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
