I need to redesign a small UPS for microcontroller so I has enough time for a safe shutdown. I was planning to use the AD TLC4041. Only it seems there is structural problem with availability. So I want to replace this design.

Does TI has a suggested solution better then a buck and boost converter in cascade.

I think you can use a boost converter such as TPS61023.

it seem like you need a power management solution, instead of just a boost. the correct part number of AD device should be LTC4041, i guess.

there is no a one chip solution for such application as I know. The closed solution should be this reference design https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP9802.

please take a look at the reference design and we could further discuss if it is not OK.

I need a bit more sophisticated then the PMP9802. It takes to long for a linear charger to charge a supercap.

Designing a supercap UPS is not a problem but there are some design challenges that I hoped somebody else already solved.

what is the value of the super capacitor and how long do you plan to charge the capacitor?

in addition to charging circuit, could you detail other design challenges?
