LM5122: Synchronous Boost Controller

Hi TI expert,

Currently I'm designing a boost topology, I see the LM5122 is a good controller that can be used in normal condition, the feature and performance are very good. But the VIN max of LM5122 is only 75V, is there any related device that VIN could support at least 90V?

What my requirments:

- VIN: 36V-60V, Max Vin: 90V

- VOUT: 65V, Max Vout: 100V,

- Synchronous Boost, Current mode control

Hi Jack,

If 90V input is just a transient condition, you can consider adding a clamp on the input side.

Can you please provide a example of adding clamp on the input? It has to be evaluated if its circuite is too complicated. Thanks...

Hello Jack,

Please excuse the delayed response.

Dependent on the transient, a TVS diode might work or you use a Zener diode.

Hi Jack,

Sorry the status of this thread was somehow not changed on my end.

Please check Brigitte's reply. The Zener diode usually does the job unless there is other special requirement.
