LM34936: Inductor and R5 is hot

I have LM34936 and the inductor and R5,D1 is getting pretty warm, temp close to 60C, can you explain if this is normal or do I have to increase the pad under these components.

Is this normal or not

The input voltage 24V

Input current 1.5A

Output voltage 12V

Output current 4A

I am assuming that you are using the LM34936EVM. Have there been any modifications to the board?

Hi Garrett,

Hope you are doing well, I have design my own board, and also I have LM34936EVM. Both boards are getting pretty hot around inductor and R5 and D1

No modification everything as it same.

My board is little bit hotter(60C vs 52C) than EVM board since 1oz copper 2 layer board.
