LM5176: LM5176

Part Number: LM5176

Hello:

I am working on a new 7S Lithium charger design (CC/CV) and plan to use the LM5176, our power source is a 24 volt power supply and the charger expected output voltage range will be 20-29.4 volts.

Using Webench tools I ran the designs at different output voltages and came up with different Ccomp, Rcomp and Ccomp2 values.

How do I select a good compromise to work over the full 20-29.4 volt output range?

Adnan

  • Hi Adnan,

You should choose one set of Ccomp and Rcomp, and it should cover the operation for other Vout options.  The loop is not that sensitive to Vout setting.

If you want to feel more comfortable, you can list all these Webench recommendations and choose a medium value for each part.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback, good to know that the chip control loop is not sensitive to output voltage variation.
