LM5023: Quasi-Resonant Current Mode PWM Controller with higher gate driver current

Part Number: LM5023
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27531

Dears

We have win the LM5023 in some case, and customer want to have a upgrade one with 2A gate driver capability, so want to check with you if we have a solution.

By the way, do we have a Quasi-Resonant Current Mode PWM Controller which can support 5V supply.

Thanks

  • Hello Jun,

The LM5023 is designed to run with an off line or high input voltage application.  This requires higher VCCon thresholds to keep the VCC capacitors reasonable in size.   Also to drive FET's in these applications requires 8 to 12V.

At this time there are no plans for future spins of the LM5023 with 2 A drivers.  You could use an external gate drive circuit if you need  2A of gate drive.  The UCC27531 can support 2.5 A of source current and 5 A of sink current.

    Regards,
