Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25895, PMP4451, PMP11536
Hi,
In reviewing the PMP4451 reference design, I see that TPS61235 is used to boost the output of BQ25895 to 5V3A. However, BQ25895 already has a built-in boost converter that can do the same job. Aside from TPS61235's higher max current (8A), are there other advantages to using a separate boost converter? If my application only needs 5V3A, is there any reason I'd need TPS61235 in addition to BQ25895, or should BQ25895 be enough on its own? Reference design PMP11536 also uses the same configuration (just another example).
Thanks very much!
