Part Number: LM5060
Hello,
I'm using the LM5060 as power-path controller in an application with a schematic very similar to "Example Number 3: Reverse Polarity Protection with Resistor".
I'd like to connect the output of a Flyback DC/DC converter (PoE power supply) at the output of this schematic unsing a ORing configuration between the last MOSFET of the LM5060 schematic as the first diode and the output of the flyback MOSFET as the second diode.
Can I do that? Does the LM5060 support ORing configurations?
Hi Chris,
LM74700-Q1 would be the right device for Oring configuration. Please go through the datasheet and let us know if you have any further questions.
Best Regards, Rakesh

In reply to Rakesh:
For sure LM74700-Q1 seams to be a good ideal diode controller.
But I want to avoid an additional chip and want to use LM5060 for its MIN/MAX input voltage control capabilities.
So what will be the behavior of LM5060 if another power supply is feed at its output through a diode?
In reply to Christophe Niclaes49:
I've a lot of constraints in this design and they are related to component sharing with other designs. That's why I need to know if a solution based on LM5060 is suitable before looking to other components.
Could you please provide an answer to my question: could I use the LM5060, with the Example 3 schematic from the datasheet, in a ORing configuration with another power source connnected to the output using a diode?
ORing controllers blocks reverse current (always) like a diode but LM5060 with back-to-back FET configuration needs to be disabled to block the reverse current. LM5060 is not suitable for active Oring application.\
Thanks for your response!
