UCC24612: Gate drive voltage behavior

Hello,

We're designing with the UCC2416 and seeing odd behavior with the gate drive signal.

Could you please let us know how we could troubleshoot / fix this? Thank you, Keith

Hello Keith,

I want if you have bounce in the gate driver signal. Do you have a 2.2 ohm resistor from VD to the FET gate? If not could you add it and it may remove the issue.

Hi Mike,

We have a 2.2 Ohm resistor from the VG pin of the controller to the gate of the FET (Assuming you meant VG instead of VD). We also tried a range of resistances to see if that would solve the issue between 2.2 ohms and 50 ohms and saw no change.

Hello,

We found that adding a snubber across the MOSFET, as well as changing the MOSFET to a device with higher Rds_on fixed this issue.
