TPS92692: Recommended driver IC to drive 400W LED array

Part Number: TPS92692

Hello Team.

We're looking for a Driver IC to drive a 400W LED array.

Previously, TPS92692 was used to drive the 200W LED Array, and I wonder if external circuits and components and board layout changes allow 400W to be operated.

If it is impossible, please recommend a suitable driver IC.

In addition, could you give me some tips on what I need to be careful about dealing with the driver IC that can drive high-capacity LED array?

  • Hello,

I've answered your questions for this on the 200W design and it's similar here.  The TPS92692 is a controller so you should be able to use it with appropriate external components and switching frequency to do what you need.  Again, the key is to be able to get the heat out.  Please follow my previous posts to your questions.

    Thanks Tuan

  • Dear Tuan

    Thank you for your reply.

The 200W design determines that the temperature of the component is in a safe range even during use by attaching heat sink as you advised.

But the design direction has been changed to 400W class, so I once again asked if there is any problem with using TPS92692.

As you advised, I will consider choosing parts, PCB layout, heat sink to solve the heating problem.

When the device selection and circuit diagram are ready later, I will ask you again if there is any problem like before.

    Thank you always.
